Aim EVO 5 Car Racing Data Logger with two multi-channel Motorsport connectors. Connects to vehicle ECU via CAN, RS232 or K-line also includes GPS Module.
EVO 5 comes with Harness, GPS08 Module and software.
The incoming data from your ECU via CAN, RS232 or K-Line, the internal accelerometer and gyro, and the included GPS modules are all recorded by the EVO 5. The unit can also accept digital or analogue inputs. Sensors can be connected to 8 configurable analogue channels, to the RPM input and to 4 wheel speed inputs.
EVO5 features two digital outputs. The built-in digital outputs can be configured to automatically run external systems when an event happens. A good example would be the activation/deactivation of a cooling fan when a certain temperature is met.
With the CAN Output you can send messages directly to an existing CAN network in order to improve the range of vehicle control possibilities.
This will allow the user to record all the data. Its waterproofed door is equipped with a sensor that shuts down any open data files when the door is opened.
The data can now be downloaded over the secure 802.11 Wi-Fi connection the EVO 5 offers. Once downloaded, the data can be viewed and modified with the RaceStudio 3 platform.
EVO5 is the evolution of the traditional datalogger that, over the years has become a standard de facto acquisition system in a huge amount of championships. With its compact aluminum body, EVO5 can be easily placed in any vehicle. Its configuration with the new Race Studio 3 software is simple and immediate.

A 37-pin connector is available for your main applications such as power, CAN, etc., and a second, 22-pin connector is available for functions like CAN2 and digital outputs.
It permits to add 4 0-5 Volt analogue channels for pressure, temperature sensors and potentiometers. Two of these channels can be configured to receive digital inputs like wheel speed.
Wide band Lambda controller LCU-One, with Bosch LSU 4.9 probe, providing all Air/Fuel data and lambda value, allows to perfectly tune the carburetion.

The Memory Module is a small SD Card holder that can be connected via CAN bus to your AiM logger in order to record the data during your tests.
In order to make sense of all the incoming data, the EVO 5 can be connected to the GS-Dash or the display form the Formula Steering Wheel 3.

They are sorted by manufacturer/vehicle model and for each ECU, you will find the proprietary communication protocols, including the standard OBDII ones. The GPS08 Module (included in the kit) connected via CAN to the EVO 5 makes lap time calculation and track position analysis very easy. Each Aim EVO 5 memory stores more than 200 world tracks start/finish line coordinates. As soon as Aim EVO 5 is switched on, the GPS08 Module will locate its position, identify track-line coordinates and start immediately sampling lap and split time. If the track is not included in the database, it is always possible to add the start/finish line coordinates to the Aim EVO 5 via PC before going to the track, using the Race Studio 3 – Track Manager software.
An innovative EVO 5 feature is its CAN2 line, managing data coming from your additional modules (i.e. ABS, traction control, infrared temperature sensors and more). This feature meets the requirements of a growing number of racers, as the use of additional modules is becoming quite common in a number of series.
Internal Accelerometer and Gyro
The internal three-axial accelerometer and the gyroscope provide the EVO 5 a very powerful array of information. These force and motion sensors enable you to quantify the dynamic characteristics of your vehicle. Measuring acceleration forces and gyro rates can assist in determining how to improve your vehicle performances.
With EVO 5 you immediately get Math Channels values. The dash logger can be configured to display those values (i.e. brake bias, calculated gear) in real time.
For a correct EVO5 installation it is important to follow some simple rules.
Carry out CAN, serial or K-line connection only AFTER performing the logger configuration with Race Studio 3. For a correct working of the integrated three-axial accelerometer and gyroscope, EVO5 is to be placed in a central position of the car (ideally in the vehicle's centre of gravity).
GPS module is not to be positioned under metal or carbon fibre objects, which would greatly reduce the satellite signal quality. Also avoid the positioning close to other antennas, digital cameras or TFT displays. Finally, avoid installing the product with tense cables.

The EVO4S acquires data from your ECU via CAN, RS232 or K-line and also from the internal accelerometers, gyro and GPS08 Module in the kit.
The Aim EVO4s Data logger is the new powerful and flexible data logger, an evolution of the well known EVO4. It maintains the same one connector per channel connection logic, but with a completely redesigned internal electronic board. Aim EVO4s is fully compatible with the last generation of Aim dash/displays and with the new powerful Race Studio 3 software.
The EVO4S car racing datalogger samples all the information you need: data coming from your vehicle ECU via CAN, RS232 or K-line, from the internal accelerometers and gyro, from the GPS08 module included in the kit. Also get data from analogue/digital inputs, external expansions as well as predefined math channels.
